Meet Your Mentor
I'm Chris Ellis, owner of Peachwood Co. custom campervans and qualified Carpenter. Peachwood Co. was born from a love of vans and a passion for building and design. I have always been very passionate about timber and crafting it and now it's one of my greatest joys bringing it to life inside some of our various campervan builds.
I spent the early years of my apprenticeship working on period homes in Melbourne's North, bringing decrepit old buildings back to life. I then worked for another 6 years for a high end building company working on exclusive architectural homes within Melbournes Inner Eastern suburbs. I think this is where I really developed a love of design and style. Something I try to lean into on each campervan build I complete.
The idea of The Van Society is to take my knowledge of everything I have learnt through my time as a carpenter and van builder and share it with you. I want to be able to help people along their journey of building their home on wheels. Hopefully we can take out some of the stress and worry by guiding you through some of the challenging parts of building out a campervan.
